BenchLeader

Privacy policy

Last updated 12 September 2026

BenchLeader is operated by an individual based in the United States (“we”). This policy explains what the site and its email service collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions and requests go to privacy@benchleader.com.

Browsing the site

The site is a set of static pages. We set no cookies, run no analytics scripts, and do not fingerprint visitors. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and content network (Cloudflare) process the technical data every web request carries, such as your IP address, in order to serve the pages and protect against abuse; they keep it briefly in their own logs under their own policies. We do not receive or store it.

Email updates

If you subscribe to the weekly review or model alerts, we store:

  • your email address and the preferences you chose (which emails, which providers);
  • an opt-in record: the time you signed up, the wording you agreed to, and the IP address and browser identifier of the signup request, kept as proof of consent;
  • the time you confirmed, and a log of which emails we sent you and when, so a re-run of our daily job never sends the same email twice.

Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link, so an address entered by someone else receives one confirmation email and nothing further. The emails contain no tracking pixels and no advertising. Their links point to pages on this site.

Legal basis. Your consent, which you give by ticking the box at signup and confirming your address. You may withdraw it at any time.

Where it is processed. The subscriber list is stored, and emails are sent, on Cloudflare’s infrastructure (Cloudflare, Inc., United States, with a global network). No other company receives subscriber data, and we never sell or share it.

Retention. Your data is kept while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, the address is kept as a suppression record so we do not email it again; when you delete your subscription, everything we hold about the address is erased immediately. Opt-in records are erased with the subscription.

Your controls. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link and a preferences link. The preferences page lets you change what you receive or delete your subscription and all associated data yourself, with no need to contact us. You can also email privacy@benchleader.com to access, correct or erase your data, and we will answer within 30 days.

Visitors in the EU, UK and other jurisdictions

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we are the data controller for subscriber data, the lawful basis is consent, and you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, plus the right to complain to your supervisory authority. Data is transferred to the United States for processing by Cloudflare under its standard contractual clauses. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the rights those laws provide; we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Children

The site and the email service are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will post any change to this policy here with a new date. A material change to how subscriber data is used will be announced by email before it takes effect.
