About BenchLeader
BenchLeader (benchleader.com) is an independent LLM leaderboard that ranks about 450 AI models every day by quality, speed and price, using results for 240 benchmarks from 43 benchmark publishers rather than its own tests or vendor launch claims. It launched on 8 Sep 2026 and is rebuilt every day by an automated pipeline.
Key facts (as of 24 Oct 2026)
- BenchLeader tracks 240 benchmarks from 43 benchmark publishers (BenchLeader, 24 Oct 2026).
- BenchLeader is rebuilt daily at 22:03 UTC.
- Every score on BenchLeader links to the publisher that measured it.
Why it exists
Results for AI models are scattered across dozens of leaderboards, each naming the same model differently, and the numbers in launch posts are the vendors’ own. BenchLeader reads the independent boards, matches the names to one model and lays the results side by side, so a model’s standing does not rest on any single board or on its maker’s claims.
How it is run
BenchLeader is independently maintained, with an automated daily pipeline: commits by “benchleader-bot” in the site’s history are that run, once a day (the run starts at 22:03 UTC).
How the rankings are made
- What counts as a result: independent evaluators and arenas only, never a model’s own launch post.
- One model, many names: how the names different boards use are matched to one model.
- The BenchLeader Index: how scores on different benchmarks are put on one scale and combined.
- Freshness and failure: what happens when a source is late, quiet or down.
- All LLM benchmarks: what each one measures, who publishes it and its caveats.
Data and licence
The day’s top configurations are published as JSON and CSV. BenchLeader’s own figures (the index and category scores) are licensed CC BY-NC 4.0; prices, speeds and the underlying benchmark results stay under their publishers’ terms. See open data.
Track record
BenchLeader launched on 8 Sep 2026 (the launch post). The index method has changed 2 times since, each change dated in the method changelog; what moved in the data each day is in the daily digest and the Atom feed.
